➤ Guangzhou Wing Chun primarily consists of two major lineages: the Yuen Kay Shan lineage and the Sum Nung lineage from Foshan.

The Guangzhou Wing Chun Academy was founded in 2010 by the author, Master Li Ka Tat, to honor the late ""Wing Chun Madman"" Wong Kam (Kam Yeh) and to preserve and pass on the unique martial arts essence taught by Master Leung Dai Chiu and Kam Yeh.

This book documents the teaching highlights of Master Leung Dai Chiu, a senior disciple of Grandmaster Sum Nung. His guidance was precise and meticulous, laying a solid foundation through attention to every detail. This blend of rigor and approachability in his teaching style represents one of the most touching aspects of Wing Chun's heritage.

Li Ka Tat

Technology Project Engineer, Founder of Guangzhou Wing Chun Academy, and Gold Medalist at the 12th Guangdong Provincial Martial Arts Elite Competition in 2019.
Born in Hong Kong, Mr. Li embarked on his martial arts journey in 2005 under the instruction of Master Leung Dai Chiu, a disciple of the Wing Chun Grandmaster Sum Nung. Profoundly inspired by his mentor and prominent Guangzhou Wing Chun enthusiast Wong Yin Kim, Mr Li commenced teaching martial arts in 2009. That same year, he embraced the joy of fatherhood with the birth of his first son. In homage to Master Wong Yin Kim’s enduring impact, he founded the Guangzhou Wing Chun Academy shortly after Master Wong’s Yin Kim passing in 2010.
Between 2011 and 2012, Mr Li imparted martial arts knowledge across 14 educational institutions, including Heng Fa Chuen Lutheran Day Nursery, Kowloon Yau Yat Chuen Tak Nga Primary School, Lui Cheung Kwong Lutheran Primary School, Tsing Yi Trade Association Kindergarten, Sun Island English Kindergarten(Belcher Branch), St Philip Lutheran Church Kindergarten, S.K.H. Good Shepherd Kindergarten, Yuen Long Public Middle School Alumni Association Lau Leung Sheung Memorial Kindergarten, Yuen Long New Territories Assemblies of God Church Wai Yan Kindergarten, Hong Kong Bethel Church Gideon Kindergarten, S.K.H. St. Joseph's Primary School, Long Ping Estate Sing Yan Kindergarten, S.K.H. St. Peter's Church Castle Peak Siu Lun Court Kindergarten and S.K.H. Kei Wing Primary School.
In 2013, Mr. Li was invited by a renowned U.S. publicly listed company to host a series of Wing Chun seminars and demonstrations, which received widespread acclaim. In the same year, he established a Wing Chun class at the company, attracting many enthusiasts.
In 2017, with the support and recognition of his teacher, Master Leung Dai Chiu, Mr. Li co-founded a martial arts school to further promote Wing Chun. In 2018, he traveled to Taipei to engage in martial arts exchanges with the Wing Chun Club at National Taiwan University, expanding Wing Chun's international influence.
In 2019, at the invitation of Sum Siu Wai, son of Wing Chun Grandmaster Sum Nung, Mr. Li represented Sum Nung Wing Chun in the 12th Guangdong Provincial Martial Arts Elite Competition, where he proudly won the gold medal in the Men's Youth Group category.
