▌以兩種語言互相映照詮釋譜寫詩句與散文，從鏡面的兩側描繪遠洋異地的內心。
這些文字，寫於不同的城市、河流、海邊與深夜之後。
從英國北方的霧、鐘聲與海岸，到蒙古草原深處的風、寒夜與遠行；從日復一日的現實生活，到那些無人言說的漂泊、離散與未完成之事。
這裡沒有答案。
文字只是記錄：風如何穿過曠野，海水如何帶走腳印，一盞燈為何會在深夜始終亮著。當世界逐漸只剩工作、沉默與遠方之後，究竟還有什麼，留在自己身上。
寫給那些曾在黑夜之中，見過那顆月亮的人。

生於中國北方，現居英國。

▌Prelude‧The Solitary Steed
On the grassland, the herdsman said: найз,
the wind stays low—pressed against the ground, moving in from far away.
You have to stand steady.
You cannot resist it, and you cannot avoid it.
Be like the grass—bend first, then rise.
There are no trees here, no buildings.
Nothing holds the wind.
It passes through the body—entering from one side, leaving from the other.
The road unfolds step by step.
When you look back, there is no clear place of departure.
The herdsman walked ahead and called out.
A few brown horses lifted their heads,
then came over.
At the fence, there was no sense of crossing.
One is already on the other side.
“Stay close to the horse,” he said.
The wind eases slightly.
The reins were placed in the hand.
The horse turned its head.
Its coat, dimmed by the wind.
Foot in the stirrup.
Hand draws.
Body close.
Then over.
No pause.
If the motion breaks, the body remains suspended—
neither mounted, nor returned.
When seated, the body sinks, then steadies.
Breath rises along the inner legs.
The reins do not need to be held tight.
It moves forward.
The wind continues.
The herdsman asked, “найз,
do you believe in Tengri…?”
He paused.
“The grassland is home.
The wind is the master.
Follow its direction.”
He looked into the distance.
Then rode on ahead.
▌引｜独行的骏马
草原上，牧者说：「奈兹，这风贴着地皮来的，远着呢。脚得站稳，顶是顶不了。躲也躲不掉，得学草，伏下去，再立起来。」
这里没有树，也没有建筑，没有什么可以挡。唯一能算得上「挡」的，是身后那座蒙古包─炊烟刚散，毡墙在风里微微鼓着。脚下的路，一步一步走着，回头的时候，已经分不清从哪里走来。
不远处的马场，几匹马零散地站着。牧者走在前面，步子很大，扯着嗓子喊了一声。那几匹棕色的马抬起头，耳朵转了转，然后朝这边走过来。马厩的门半开着，风从里面灌进去，又吹出来，带着干草和马粪的气味。
他站在栅栏的另一边了。马在栅栏的那一边。没有跨过去的感觉。
牧者说，靠在马的侧面会好一点。贴过去的时候，风确实轻了一些。
缰绳递到手里的时候，马回头看了一眼。毛色被风压得有些暗，脊背微微起伏。脚踩进马镫，皮革有些发紧。手一带，身体贴上去，另一条腿顺势跨过去─动作不能停。只要慢一点，人就会卡在半空，既上不去，也下不来。
落到鞍上的一瞬，整个人被带着往下一沉。马背很快又稳住，呼吸贴着腿侧传上来。两腿自然贴紧，缰绳不需要拉得太死，它会自己往前走。风还在，从一侧穿进来，从另一侧出去。衣角不断掀起，又贴回身体。
牧者问：「老弟，腾格里……信吗？」
他停了一下，没有回答。
「草原是家，风是主人，」牧者说，「朝风走就是了。」
他看着远处，没有再说话。
牧者转身打马，向前去了。

▌Preface‧On Poetry
The relation between myself and poetry did not begin with inspiration, nor with impulse.
It began with a division—between the self that moves within life and the self that remains within the poem.
The self in life bears weight.
Work, responsibility, decision, loss—each continues forward, without pause.
They are not romantic. They are real.
One stands within them, makes judgment, accepts consequence.
There is little room for hesitation, and less for emotion.
The self in poetry holds something else.
What cannot be fully placed does not disappear.
It settles, and in moments not interrupted, returns—quietly, without claim.
For a long time, it was unclear what poetry could do.
It does not resolve difficulty, nor does it alter reality.
Writing does not make life easier.
It often begins after the day has ended—within hours that serve no further use.
A light remains. The desk is still.
What has not been carried away is allowed to stay.
Writing is a process of reduction.
A line is written, then removed.
An image appears, yet does not settle.
What remains must be able to bear what it holds.
It was also through this process that I began to see:
the same experience may take different forms in different languages.
Frostbound and《霜天行》arise from the same underlying experience.
In English, the poem stays close to the body and its surroundings—wind, cold, direction, continuation.
In Chinese, it turns toward rhythm and structure, drawing inward.
They do not explain one another, yet each remains complete.
The same holds for Stonegate, York and《静安夜思》.
One unfolds in the fog and bells of an unfamiliar place;
the other settles in a city at night, among light and shadow.
A similar condition:
one stands within a place, yet does not fully enter.
They begin from the same point, yet move in different directions.
Such differences do not require resolution.
They only indicate that experience does not belong to a single form.
Writing is not easy.
It requires time, and it takes something away.
Yet this has never been what matters.
What matters more is whether, within the forward movement of life, there remains a place where what cannot be carried may still remain.
At times, something becomes briefly clear.
Not an answer—only that direction may still be seen.
Such moments are brief, yet sufficient.
Over time, one comes to understand:
poetry is not outcome, but process;
not identity, but a continued choice.
It does not lead to arrival.
It allows, within movement, the possibility of seeing where one is going.
▌序｜我和诗
我与诗的关系，并非始于灵感，也并非源于冲动。
更准确地说，它始于一种分裂─现实中的我，和诗中的我。
现实的我，需要承担生活的重量。
工作、责任、选择、失去，一切不断向前推进。它们不浪漫，却真实存在。我必须在其中站稳脚跟，做出判断，承受结果。许多时候，没有迟疑的空间，也不为情绪预留位置。
而诗中的我，承载着另一部分。
那些无法被现实安放的感受与念头，并不会消失，它们只是沉下去，在某些不被打断的时刻，再次浮现。
很长一段时间里，并不确信诗能做什么。
它不能解决问题，也不会改变现实。写作并不会让生活变得更容易。它往往发生在一天结束之后，在那些已经没有其他用途的时间里。灯还亮着，桌面安静，一些尚未被带走的部分，才得以停留。
写作更像是一种减法。
不是不断增加，而是不断拿掉。一个句子写下，又被删去；一个意象出现，却无法落稳。留下的，必须能够承受它所包含的部分。
也正是在这样的过程中，我逐渐意识到─
同一经验，可以在不同语言中，呈现出不同的状态。
Frostbound与《霜天行》，源自同一份感受。
在英文中，它更接近身体与环境的直接感受─风、寒、方向与持续；而在中文中，它转向节奏与结构，成为一种向内收束的表达。它们不互相解释，却彼此成立。
Stonegate, York与《静安夜思》也是如此。
一个在异地清晨的雾与钟声中展开，一个在都市夜色与灯影之间沉下。所面对的，是相似的状态─人在环境之中，却难以完全进入。它们来自同一处，但走向不同。
这种差异，并不需要被统一。
它们只是说明：经验本身，并不只有一种呈现方式。
写作并不轻松。
它需要时间，也会带来消耗。但这些从来不是决定性的部分。
更重要的是─
在不断推进的生活之中，是否仍保留这样一个位置，让那些无法被带走的东西，可以停留下来。
偶有片刻，会出现一些清晰的时刻。
并非答案，只是方向暂时变得可辨。那样的瞬间很短，却足以让人继续走下去。
写作至今，我逐渐明白：
诗不是结果，而是过程；不是身份，而是一种持续的选择。
它不会带来抵达。
它只是让我在前行之中，仍能看见方向。
